Sheldon Gilbert has worked in various roles since 1997. Sheldon began their career as a Research Assistant in Molecular Genetics at The Rockefeller University in 1997. In 1999, they became a Data Mining Engineer at Fort Point Partners. In 2003, they were hired as Director of Business Intelligence & Data Mining at Bluefly. In 2007, they were the Founder & CEO of Proclivity Systems. In 2020, they founded Kura Labs, a DevOps/SRE and Infrastructure Computing Training Non-profit.

Sheldon Gilbert attended Horace Mann School from 1993-1997 and then Yale University from 1997-2001, where they graduated with a degree in Molecular Biochemistry & Biophysics.
