Gert Nieuwoudt

CTO at Proconics

Gert Nieuwoudt is the CTO at Proconics. Gert has over 25 years of experience in the engineering and construction industry, with a focus on control and instrumentation for hazardous plants. Gert began their career at Sasol Technology in 1990 as a Control and Instrumentation Engineer. In this role, they were responsible for process control design, engineering and project management for petrochemical plants. Gert also oversaw the detail design and engineering for instruments and materials, construction and design drawings, software specifications, procurement activities, project management, project cost control activities, construction management and commissioning.

In 1995, Nieuwoudt left Sasol Technology to join Proconics, where they have served as CTO for the past 25 years. In this role, they are responsible for the company's overall technical strategy and direction, as well as leading a team of engineers in the development of new products and technologies. Under their leadership, Proconics has become a world-leader in the design and manufacture of process control systems for the mining and petrochemical industries.

Gert Nieuwoudt has a Bachelor's in Engineering from the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria, and a T3 from Pretoria Technicon. Gert is certified from ECSA as a Professional Engineer, Pr. Eng.

and Robert Theron - Senior Manager - ICT, Automation and RPAS reports to Gert Nieuwoudt. Their manager is Melvin Jones, Group CEO. Gert Nieuwoudt works with and Reginald Mbata - Managing Director.
