James Pita, PhD, is a seasoned professional in the field of machine learning and computer science. Currently serving as Principal Machine Learning Engineer at Procore Technologies since February 2020, James previously co-founded and held the position of Chief Evangelist at Avata Intelligence until its acquisition by Procore. Earlier experience includes working as an Operations Researcher at the RAND Corporation from October 2012 to February 2015. James earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from the University of Southern California between 2007 and 2011 and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science from Michigan State University from 2003 to 2007.
