Cate Band

Cate Band is the Chief People Officer at Prodigy Finance. Cate has extensive experience in human resources, having worked in both the private and public sectors.

Band began their career as a management trainee at ABI Bottling (Pty) Ltd in December 2005. Cate quickly rose through the ranks and became the OD, Training & Communications Lead in the Strategic Projects Office. In this role, they were responsible for managing and developing training programs for employees.

In March 2009, Band left ABI Bottling to join SABMiller as a Regional Business Partner. In this role, they were responsible for HR strategy and execution for the company's regional operations. Cate remained with SABMiller until March 2017, when they joined Prodigy Finance as Chief People Officer.

Cate Band holds a Diploma in Business and Leadership Coaching from The Coaching Centre. Cate also has a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Political & International Studies from Rhodes University, as well as a BA Hons in Politics and International Studies (with Distinction) from the same institution. Finally, they have a Bachelor of Arts - BA in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Rhodes University.

Their manager is Cameron Stevens, Co-Founder & CEO. They work with Nico Barnard - COO, Alastair Hops - Chief Risk Officer, and Nicole de Rauville - Global General Counsel. A direct report to Cate Band is and Jenna Bisset Brown - Head of Talent.
