Deborah Sikkema has a diverse range of work experience in the field of human resources. Deborah has served as the Chief People Officer at Professional Engineers Ontario, where they oversee HR, facilities, and event management functions. Prior to this, Deborah founded Pro HR, an HR consulting company that supports small to mid-sized businesses with people-related solutions. Deborah has also held the role of Chief People Officer at Entourage Health (formerly WeedMD Inc.), where they led the HR function and facilitated organizational transformation. Deborah has experience in implementing innovative HR initiatives and building team culture, as seen in their previous roles at Holt Renfrew and Canadian Tire Corporation. Deborah has also worked at Shoppers Drug Mart, Transcontinental Media, Toronto Region Board of Trade, and OCG Strategy and Organization Consulting in various HR roles.
Deborah Sikkema holds a Master of Industrial Relations/Human Resources from the University of Toronto, which they completed from 2002 to 2004. Prior to that, they obtained a Hons B.A. in Psychology from Western University from 1997 to 2001. In addition to their degrees, they have obtained various certifications including Certified Talent Management Practitioner from HR Academy, HRPA in 2019, Workplace Investigation Techniques & Report Writing Workshop from Rubin Thomlinson LLP in 2018, and Certified in InsideOut Coaching (GROW model) from InsideOut Leadership & Coaching Consulting Group in 2018.

Professional Engineers Ontario
Professional Engineers Ontario governs over 91,000 licence and certificate holders, grants temporary, limited and provisional licences to practise professional engineering, and authorizes businesses to provide engineering services to the public. It sets standards for and regulates engineering practice. Under the Professional Engineers Act, its statutory mandate is to serve and protect the public interest where engineering is concerned. Rigorously educated, experienced and committed to a Code of Ethics that puts the public first, licensed professional engineers can be identified by the P.Eng. after their names. Limited engineering licensees can be identified by the LEL after their names.
