Jeremy Jernigan

Jeremy Jernigan has over 20 years of experience in the field of industrial hygiene and occupational health. Jeremy started their career in 1997 as a Resource Manager at McKenzie Tank Lines Inc, where they coordinated the transportation of hazardous chemicals. In 1998, they joined Professional Service Industries, Inc. (PSI) as a Manager/Regional Scientist, providing industrial hygiene services nationwide. Jeremy consulted for Department of Defense and federal facilities during their time at PSI.

In 2016, Jeremy took on the role of Senior Industrial Hygienist at Southern Company, where they were responsible for recognizing and evaluating potential occupational health hazards and implementing control measures. Jeremy also provided industrial hygiene consultative services and conducted employee exposure assessments. Later, in 2018, they became a Principal Health & Safety Consultant/Safety & Training Shared-Services Team Leader at Gulf Power Company (NextEra Energy), continuing to oversee occupational health hazards and compliance measures.

Currently, Jeremy holds the position of Chief Scientist at Professional Service Industries, Inc. (PSI) since 2023. Jeremy leads the company's scientific department and continues to provide comprehensive industrial hygiene services, addressing chemical, physical, and biological hazards in the workplace.

Throughout their career, Jeremy has demonstrated expertise in industrial hygiene surveys, indoor air quality investigations, noise monitoring, personal protective equipment evaluations and training, ventilation system evaluations, job hazard analysis, and occupational health investigations nationwide.

Jeremy Jernigan holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Environmental Studies from the University of West Florida. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) from the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management, Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) from the Board for Global EHS Credentialing (BGC®) / American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH®), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, Florida Licensed Asbestos Consultant (FLAC) from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Florida Licensed Mold Assessor (FLMA) from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, and Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification from NextEra Energy, Inc.
