Richard (Shan) Schatzle has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Richard (Shan) began their career in 1993 as an Environmental Supervisor at the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, where they provided technical guidance and support to junior staff and oversaw waste permitting teams. In 2001, they joined SESTECH Environmental, Inc. as a Senior Project Manager, where they managed the Baton Rouge office and had corporate oversight for waste-related projects. Richard (Shan) then worked at Enviro One, LLC as a Project Manager, providing program management for waste and due diligence programs.
In 2003, Schatzle moved to Shaw Environmental, Inc. as a Client Program Manager and Permitting and Compliance Manager, responsible for managing client programs and facilitating regulatory negotiations. Richard (Shan) then joined T. Baker Smith, Inc. as a Senior Environmental Professional and Business Development Manager.
Schatzle founded Inner Circle Environmental Consulting, LLC in 2009 and served as its President until 2011. Richard (Shan) then briefly worked as General Manager at ARC Abatement's ACSI Office in Baton Rouge.
In 2012, Schatzle returned to Professional Service Industries, Inc. (PSI) and held multiple roles, including Environmental Department Manager, Site Manager, and Business Development Manager. In these roles, they managed PSI's environmental operations in Louisiana and Southern Mississippi, handling P&L, budgeting/forecasting, technical guidance, proposal development, and project management. Richard (Shan) also dedicated 50% of their time to business development for various business lines within PSI.
Most recently, in 2019, Schatzle joined ECS Limited as a Business Development Manager, responsible for driving business growth. And in 2022, they returned to Professional Service Industries, Inc. (PSI) as a National Client Manager.
Richard (Shan) Schatzle began their education by attending Tulane University from 1987 to 1989, where they pursued studies in Political Science. Richard (Shan) then continued their education at Louisiana State University from 1991 to 1993, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Management.
