Robert Staruch

Robert Staruch has diverse work experience spanning across various industries. Robert currently holds the position of VP Clinical Science at Profound Medical Inc., a role they assumed in May 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Clinical Science at the same company from January 2021 to May 2023. Before joining Profound Medical Inc., Staruch worked at Philips as a Clinical Site Researcher from July 2013 to January 2017. Robert also gained valuable experience as a Graduate Student at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, where they conducted research on hyperthermia-mediated drug delivery using MRI-controlled focused ultrasound. Staruch has also worked as an Intern, Medical Image Processing at the University of Waterloo and as a Medical Physics Research Assistant at the London Regional Cancer Program. Additionally, they have completed various internships at Sun Microsystems Laboratories and General Motors, where they gained experience in research and development as well as controls engineering and maintenance supervision. Staruch's educational background includes a Master's and Doctoral degree, and they have received scholarships for their research work.

Robert Staruch earned a Ph.D. in Medical Biophysics from the University of Toronto, where they attended from 2007 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Waterloo, earning a B.A.Sc. in Honours Computer Engineering from 2002 to 2007.
