Hyunsoo Kim

Hyunsoo Kim is an experienced R&D scientist currently working at Progenesis since March 2023. Prior to this role, Hyunsoo served as the Director of Strategic Planning at Genolution from February 2021 to December 2022, focusing on R&D project development for molecular diagnostics, including SARS-CoV-2 genome NGS assay development. From July 2019 to February 2021, Hyunsoo was the Director of Analytics at Helixmith, specializing in precision analysis of nucleic acids. Additional experience includes a position as Staff Scientist at LabCorp Diagnostic Laboratories (July 2015 - June 2019), where optimization of NIPT assays and cancer mutation enrichment projects were key responsibilities. Earlier career milestones include serving as a Sr. Scientist at AltheaDx from June 2010 to April 2015, focusing on genome structural variation analysis. Hyunsoo's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Korea University and multiple post-doctoral research positions at Yale University, Duke University, and the University of California, Riverside.
