Michael Mitchell

Michael Mitchell has extensive experience in embedded software engineering, currently working at Progress Rail, a Caterpillar Company, since April 2019. Prior to this role, Michael served as a Principal Embedded Software Engineer in private consulting, specializing in embedded firmware and tools. Previous positions include Staff Firmware Engineer at RJE International, Inc. and Remote Ocean Systems Inc., where responsibilities encompassed firmware design, hardware specifications, and prototype electronics for underwater systems. Michael's career began in software engineering at Qualcomm, with significant contributions to board support, device drivers, and real-time operating systems over 17 years. Earlier work experience includes network engineering and software development roles at Amtech Technology Corp, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and RadioShack.
