Charles Connelly has extensive work experience in software engineering and leadership positions. Charles is currently the VP of Software Engineering at Progress, where they focus on Agile execution and delivering value to customers. Prior to their current role, they served as the Senior Director of Software Engineering, leading teams in CloudOps, DevOps, Content & Courseware, and UX.

Before joining Progress, Charles worked at CA Technologies, where they held various roles. Charles was a Sr. Principal DevOps Consultant, leading an Engineering Excellence transformation initiative and optimizing deployment pipelines and development practices. Charles also served as the Director of Tools Services, overseeing the adoption of standard and preferred tools, including CA Agile Central, after the acquisition of Rally Software. Additionally, they held positions as the Sr. Director of Business Unit Operations and Director of Software Engineering, where they managed the CA Technology Stack, performed technical due diligence for acquisitions, and rolled out a standard Continuous Integration stack.

Prior to their time at CA Technologies, Charles worked at Adjoin Solutions Inc. as a Principal Software Engineer and Palm as a Principal Software Engineer. At Palm, they promoted best practices in unit testing, test-driven development, and refactoring. Charles started their career as an Associate at CAD Tech Resources, Inc., where they developed a web-based workflow application.

Charles began their professional journey as an intern at LandWare, Inc. in 1996.

Charles Connelly obtained a BA degree in Economics from Colgate University in the years 1992 to 1996. In addition, they have obtained several certifications, including LEAD Self (leadership development program) from Progress, CA Leadership Development Program from CA Technologies, SAFe Agilist from Scaled Agile, Inc., and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from CA Technologies.
