Sarunas Bagdonas has worked in the IT industry since 2001. Sarunas began their career at Lonus Technologies UAB as the manager of the second software development services unit, and was promoted to CEO in 2003. In 2012, they began working at Visoriai Information Technology Park as an IT business developer, and later at Demola Network as a facilitator. In 2014, they were the Head of Department of LIMIS and Information Technology at the Lithuanian Art Museum, and also the Business Development Manager at Vytautas Magnus University. In 2016, they were a Business Developer at Pubgene AS and a SharePoint Business and Technology Analyst, Devop, and Manager at Profectus Novus. Currently, they are an IT business analyst, development, and governance at Proitsw, where they work on medical and health, social insurance data and knowledge management solutions, EESSI related software and infrastructure, and digital phenotyping of cancer patients.

Sarunas Bagdonas obtained a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics from Vilniaus Universitetas / Vilnius University between 1987 and 1992, and a Master's degree, honorable mention in Computational and Applied Mathematics from the same institution between 1988 and 1993.
