Usman Al-Rashid has extensive experience in the field of public health and policy planning. Usman began their career in 1999 as a Senior Health Policy Advisor at Futures Group International. Usman later joined The Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria in 2008 as a Country Representative in The Gambia. In 2012, they joined USAID TSHIP/Futures Group International as the Director of Result-Based Management, Policy & Advocacy, where they oversaw health systems strengthening and policy development projects. From 2014 to 2018, Al-Rashid served as the Country Director of Project HOPE International and Deputy Chief of Party at USAID LOPIN-3 Nigeria, where they led projects related to infection prevention and control in healthcare facilities. Since 2020, they have been working as the State IHP Director for Task Order 5 at the USAID Integrated Health Program. Throughout their career, Al-Rashid has demonstrated expertise in evidence-based decision-making, population health modeling, and advocacy for sustainable healthcare interventions.
Usman Al-Rashid obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, where they studied from 2007 to 2009. Additionally, they have acquired certifications in "How to Develop your Career Plan" and "Improving Your Listening Skills" from LinkedIn in March 2020.
