Kaitlin Garzia

Product Owner And Salesforce Administrator at Project Sunshine

Kaitlin Garzia has a diverse work experience spanning different organizations and roles. Kaitlin started their career as an Advocacy Coordinator at Planned Parenthood of Connecticut in 2007, where they created a social network presence for volunteer outreach and conducted community outreach to promote reproductive health. Kaitlin then worked as a Communications and Media Intern at Law Media Group in 2008, where they supported the Media Relations division and conducted research on aerospace engineering and telecommunications.

In 2008, Kaitlin served as an Intern for Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin, attending congressional hearings, leading Capitol tours, and providing administrative assistance. Kaitlin also worked as an AmeriCorps VISTA in Community Outreach and Preparedness at the American Red Cross in Greater New York from 2009 to 2010, creating and managing a volunteer program for emergency preparedness in low-income communities.

In 2010, Kaitlin became an NYC Service Fellow at the Office of the Mayor, New York City. In this role, they managed a partnership with the Department of Education to increase the number of public school students engaged in service and oversaw the redesign of the CPR initiative.

From 2012 to 2014, Kaitlin served as a Program Manager at the Office of the Mayor, City of New York. Kaitlin coordinated interagency relationships for NYC Service's emergency preparedness work, managed a Regional Volunteer Center Grant, and coordinated volunteer events with city agencies, nonprofits, and corporate partners.

In 2014, Kaitlin transitioned to the NYC Service, Office of the Mayor as a Partnerships Director, overseeing external relationships and managing recruitment and placement of volunteers for impact initiatives. Kaitlin also led the Emergency Preparedness and Response initiative and managed relationships with corporations, nonprofits, colleges, universities, and individuals.

From 2015 to 2019, Kaitlin worked at the Girl Scouts of the USA as a Program Delivery Manager. Kaitlin designed and implemented sustainable delivery models, mentored councils during a pilot phase, and built playbooks to guide pilot councils, among other accomplishments.

Most recently, Kaitlin joined Project Sunshine in 2019 as a Volunteer Engagement Director.

Kaitlin Garzia has a BA in Political Science from Dickinson College. Kaitlin also holds an Executive Masters in Public Administration with a focus on Public Administration from Baruch College. Kaitlin has also obtained a certification in Salesforce1 Mobile Basics from Salesforce Trailhead.
