Emily Canata MS, RDN, CLC has worked in the nutrition field since 2002. Emily began their career as a Registered Dietitian at Boston Medical Center, providing medical nutrition therapy for NICU, PICU, and pediatric inpatients. In 2004, they moved to Miller Children's Hospital Long Beach, where they continued to provide medical nutrition therapy primarily for NICU, PICU, and pediatric cardiology populations. In 2011, Emily became the Director of Clinical Nutrition at MemorialCare Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach & Long Beach Medical Center, where they led the Division of Clinical Nutrition, developed and implemented clinical programs and services, and utilized a Lean mindset, methods, and management system. In 2020, Emily joined Prolacta Bioscience as a Medical Science Liaison and Clinical Sales Specialist, promoting the benefits of exclusive human milk for very premature infants in the NICU and partnering with clinicians to provide clinical and operational resources to support the successful use of human milk and EHMD.
Emily Canata MS, RDN, CLC has a well-rounded education history. Emily obtained their Bachelor of Science in Dietetics/Dietitian from Michigan State University in 1999. Emily then went on to earn their Master of Science in Nutrition Sciences from Boston University in 2001. Most recently, they completed a CLEC in Lactation Educator Counselor from UC San Diego Extended Studies in 2020.
