Erin Hamilton Spence has held several positions in the healthcare industry. Erin began their career in 2008 as a Neonatologist at both MEDNAX and Cook Children's Health Care System. In 2012, they took on the role of NICU Assistant Medical Director at Baylor Scott & White Health, as well as Faculty Co-Chair at NICHQ. Erin is currently serving as Director of Clinical Education at Prolacta Bioscience since 2022.
Erin Hamilton Spence completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in English at the University of Chicago between 1992 and 1996. Erin then attended The University of Texas Medical Branch and obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 2002. Following this, they attended The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston) and obtained their MD in Pediatrics, Neonatology in 2008. In 2005, they obtained their certification in Pediatrics from the American Board of Pediatrics. In 2012, they obtained their certification in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine from the American Board of Pediatrics. In 2017, they obtained their certification in IBCLC from the International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA).
