Nóra Baka

AI R&D engineer at Promaton

Nóra Baka has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple companies and roles. Nóra started their career as a Trainee at the University of Lodz in 2006, where they implemented an optic flow algorithm for object tracking in robotic navigation. Nóra then joined Erasmus MC in 2007 as a PhD candidate, collaborating with the Biomedical Imaging Group Rotterdam and Leiden University Medical Center. Nóra'sPhD research focused on anatomical shape and motion reconstruction from sparse image data. After completing their PhD in 2012, they worked as a Postdoc researcher at Leiden University Medical Center, where they contributed to the MXL project, aiming to improve training and planning tools for joint surgery.

In 2013, Nóra returned to Erasmus MC as a Postdoc, working on the Mediate project. Nóra'sresponsibilities included defining and conducting research on topics related to improving guidance during percutaneous coronary interventions. Nóra also participated in meetings, gave presentations, and published the results of their work. In 2014, they joined TU Delft as a Postdoctoral Researcher for a year before moving to Erasmus MC again in 2015 as a Postdoctoral researcher. During this time, they focused on their research and contributed to various projects until 2016.

In 2016, Nóra started working at TomTom as an Autonomous driving R&D engineer. Over the next few years, they took on additional roles and responsibilities, including becoming a team lead for the Autonomous driving R&D engineers. In 2022, they were promoted to Engineering Manager, a position they held until 2023.

Currently, Nóra Baka is an AI R&D engineer at Promaton, starting in 2023. It is clear from their work experience that they have a strong background in research, particularly in the field of medical imaging and robotics. Nóra'sexpertise and career progression demonstrate their commitment to innovation and development in their field.

Nóra Baka began their education in 2001 at Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), where they pursued a Bachelor and Master's degree in Electrical Engineering. Nóra studied at BME until 2007. Following this, Nóra furthered their education by enrolling at Erasmus MC: University Medical Center Rotterdam from 2007 to 2012, where they completed their PhD in Medical Image Analysis.
