Toshiaki Aoyama

Toshiaki Aoyama is the VP and CFO Japan at Prometric. Toshiaki previously worked as the Head of Finance at Amazon from February 2012 to May 2019.

At Amazon, Aoyama built the Japan Digital Video Finance team from scratch and introduced vital processes to support the business growth. These processes included a weekly KPI review, a monthly closing process for accurate accrual in line with US GAAP, an annual business planning process, and launch support for Amazon Prime Video Channels (launched in July 2018). In addition, Aoyama provided a number of ad-hoc analyses in the area of efficiency in digital marketing, such as cost-efficiency by marketing channels, financial evaluation on ATL, etc.

Aoyama was nominated as a “Bar Raiser” in September 2016 (Bar Raiser is a special interviewer role based on evaluation skills. There are only 60 Bar Raisers in Japan) and played a key-role in a number of hiring positions at Amazon.

Currently, Aoyama's job-scope covers Prime Video, TVOD (Transactional Video on Demand) and Amazon Prime Video Channels.
