Gün Akkor

Gün Akkor is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in engineering and product management across several cybersecurity and technology companies. Currently serving as VP of Engineering and Product at Proofpoint, following the acquisition of Tessian, Gün previously held the role of Vice President of Engineering at Tessian and Chief Technology Officer at Finite State, where significant cost reductions and product advancements were achieved. Prior experience includes leadership positions at Sevco Security and VMware Carbon Black, where Gün contributed to product vision and team development while overseeing multiple product lines. Academic credentials include a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Maryland, complemented by teaching roles at multiple universities.
