Devon K Johnson, PhD

Devon K Johnson, PhD has had a long and varied career in data science and analytics. Devon K began their professional career in 2002 as a PhD Research at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, where they managed a team of scientists to design and conduct an experiment using betatron X-rays from a plasma to create a positron source for next generation linear colliders. In 2006, they joined KLA-Tencor as a Product Manager and Product Marketing Manager, where they piloted and implemented an innovative software product model to drive cross-functional value of multiple products in early development. Devon K then moved to Xyratex in 2010 as a Sr. Product Manager and Sr. Product Marketing Manager, contributing to the divisional shift from a contract manufacturer to a marketing-based product organization. In 2012, they joined AGS - American Gaming Systems as Head of Data Science & Analytics, creating an analytics platform to improve slot machine performance. In 2014, they moved to GuideSpark as Head of Data Science & Analytics, tasked with integrating data into the organization and helping build a data-driven culture. Finally, in 2016 they co-founded ProPair, serving as CTO and Chief Data Scientist, helping medium to large sales organizations convert more of their prospects.

Devon K Johnson, PhD holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UC San Diego.
