Amie Nguyen

Amie Nguyen has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning various industries. Amie co-founded Propel in 2016, where they served as the COO. In 2018, they joined Daily Hive as a Video Host, a role they held until 2022.

Before that, Amie worked for the City of Vancouver Parks Board and Recreation as a Lifeguard/Swim Instructor from 2006 to 2016. Amie gained valuable experience in teaching swimming and handling first aid scenarios while working with people of all ages. Additionally, they worked as a Special Events Manager & Contributor for Vancity Buzz from 2010 to 2016, organizing and contributing to various events.

Amie also worked as a Marketing and Social Media Manager for Connect Marketing Group Inc. from 2012 to 2015. Amie showcased their passion for sports as a Brand Ambassador for PepsiCo from 2013 to 2014.

Furthermore, they held the role of League Coordinator for Sports604 from 2008 to 2014, overseeing a recreational grass volleyball league and managing related operations. Amie also worked as a Copy Editor for justalilhype! Magazine from 2009 to 2012 and as a Sports Columnist for 24 Hours Newspaper Vancouver in 2012.

Their work journey started with Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) as a Games Attendant from 2002 to 2005, where they started behind the scenes and eventually moved to the front of the game booths.

Overall, Amie Nguyen has built a diverse skill set through their various roles in event management, marketing, media, and sports.

Amie Nguyen's education history includes attending Capilano University from 2007 to 2013, where they studied Business Administration and Management. In 2018, they enrolled at Ryerson University and completed The DMZ program in Educational/Instructional Technology in 2019. In 2017, Amie attended Udacity and completed the Digital Marketing Nanodegree Program. Amie also participated in the Spring Startup School Incubator Program in 2016. Prior to their college and university education, Amie attended Windermere Secondary School from 2001 to 2006.

In addition to their academic background, Amie has obtained several certifications. In 2006, they obtained the National Lifeguard certification from the Lifesaving Society BC & Yukon Branch, as well as the Standard First Aid; CPR 'C' & AED certification from the Canadian Red Cross. Amie also holds the Water Safety Instructor certification from the Canadian Red Cross. While there is mention of an Occupational First Aid Level 1 certification, the institution and date of obtaining are not provided.
