Sonya Meadows has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Most recently, they served as the Senior Director of Strategic Communications and Government Relations at Propel Schools since 2018. Prior to that, they worked as the Public Information Officer for the Public Safety Department, City of Pittsburgh, from 2014 to 2017. Sonya also had a brief stint as the Interim Communications Manager at the City of Pittsburgh Office of the Mayor in 2014. Sonya Meadows completed an Executive MBA program at the Smartly Institute from 2019 to 2020. Prior to that, they earned a BA in Journalism/Communications from Point Park University, graduating between 1991 and 1995. Sonya also attended Prairie View A&M University from 1988 to 1990, where they studied Journalism & Psychology, but did not obtain a degree. In 2016, they pursued Social Media Marketing at Northwestern University. Additionally, Sonya obtained a certification in "What is Social?" from Coursera Course Certificates in October 2016.
