Alison Fitzgerald Kodjak is an experienced journalist specializing in investigative, political, and financial reporting. As of September 2023, Alison serves as the Assistant Managing Editor for National News at ProPublica. Prior to this role, Alison led the Associated Press' Global Investigations Team from September 2019 to September 2023 and was the Acting Global Investigations Editor. Alison has authored "In Too Deep: BP and the Drilling Race that Took it Down" since January 2011. Past positions include serving as the Health Policy Correspondent for NPR, Managing Editor at the Center for Public Integrity, and CEO of an independent journalism venture. Alison's experience also encompasses roles at Bloomberg News and the Associated Press, where notable achievements include contributing to award-winning investigative series. Alison holds a Master of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University and a Bachelor’s in Italian and European Studies from Georgetown University, alongside other educational experiences in Italy and at Milton Academy.
