Usama Ashraf

As Chief Financial Officer of Prosper Marketplace, Usama oversees the company’s finance, capital markets, credit, and enterprise risk functions.

Usama brings over 20 years of experience spanning corporate finance and global capital markets to this role, including treasury, funding, securitization, financial reporting, accounting, planning, investor relations, balance sheet management, risk management, strategy, and mergers and acquisitions. Usama has held senior leadership positions at prominent financial services companies, most recently as Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer at Annaly Capital Management and Corporate Treasurer at USAA.

Prior to joining USAA, Usama spent 13 years in the Treasury and Corporate M&A departments of CIT Group, most recently serving as Deputy Treasurer with responsibility for the firm’s Treasury activities in the US. Usama also worked in the Investment Banking Division of Salomon Smith Barney/Citigroup focused on M&A.

Usama received a B.S. in Economics with concentrations in Finance and Accounting from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
