Loubna Youssar

Bioinformatics Scientist at ProtaGene

Loubna Youssar has extensive work experience in the field of bioinformatics and genomics. Loubna is currently employed as a Bioinformatics Scientist at ProtaGene. Previously, they worked as a Bioinformatician at the University of Freiburg, where they focused on investigating transcriptome-wide mRNA decay in a model organism. Loubna also worked as a Bioinformatics Scientist at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, where they studied comparative genomics of nematode trapping fungi. Loubna carried out genome annotation and identified the secretome of various fungi.

Before that, they served as a Research Scientist at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg Institute for Environmental Health Sciences and Hospital Inf. Their research involved detection of resistance determinants and metagenomic analysis. Loubna also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Freiburg, conducting research in an unspecified field.

Furthermore, they worked as a Humboldt fellow at Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg, where they focused on the purification, cloning, and genome sequencing of various fungi. Prior to that, Loubna gained experience as a Postdoc Researcher at Instituto de la Grasa, where they conducted cDNA cloning and gene mapping related to fatty acid biosynthesis.

Loubna started their career as a PhD Fellow at Universidad de Sevilla, where they conducted research on an undisclosed topic.

Overall, Loubna's work experience spans a range of bioinformatics and genomics research, with a focus on various organisms and molecular processes.

Loubna Youssar pursued their education in the field of molecular biology and bioinformatics. Loubna obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Hassan II; Casablanca, from 1993 to 1998. Loubna then went on to complete their Master's Degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Seville from 1999 to 2002. Following this, Loubna pursued a Doctorate degree in Genetic and Molecular Biology at the Universidad de Sevilla from 1999 to 2005.

In later years, Loubna further expanded their knowledge by completing a Master's in Bioinformatics at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide, specializing in Biomathematics, Bioinformatics, and Computational Biology, from 2016 to 2018.

Additionally, Loubna has obtained certifications such as the "Acknowledgment of Ad Hoc Reviewers" from the Members of the AAC Editorial Board, ASM Journal Press Releases Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (AAC) in November 2016. Loubna is also a verified peer reviewer on Publons.
