Menna Ahmed, PhD

Menna Ahmed, PhD, has a diverse work experience starting from 2008, when they completed an internship in the pharmaceutical production department at GlaxoSmithKline Pharma GmbH. In 2010, they interned as a pharmacist at an Egyptian community pharmacy, followed by an internship as a clinical research associate at the Egyptian Children's Cancer Hospital 57357.

In 2010, Menna joined ETH Zürich as an MSc student and research associate. During their time there, they contributed to the development of a library of specific and quantitative Selected Reaction Monitoring (SRM) mass spectrometry assays for the yeast proteome. Menna focused on analyzing a library of 30,000 synthetic peptides.

From 2013 to 2019, Menna worked as a Doctoral Researcher at Heidelberg University under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Walter Nickel. Menna'sdoctoral thesis involved successfully developing a high throughput, phenotypic, time-resolved cell-based assay to screen for small molecule inhibitors of FGF2 signaling and secretion.

More recently, in 2020, Menna took on the role of Project Manager at ProtaGene, where they are currently employed.

Menna Ahmed, PhD has a diverse education history. Menna began their educational journey in 2004 at The German University in Cairo, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy & Biotechnology in 2009. After completing their undergraduate studies, Menna pursued a deeper understanding of Cell Biology and enrolled at ETH Zürich in 2010. There, they earned their Master's degree in Cell Biology in 2012.

Driven by their passion for biology, Menna further pursued their education and enrolled at Heidelberg University in 2013 to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Biology. Menna dedicated six years to their doctoral studies, completing their PhD in 2019.

In addition to their academic achievements, Menna has also obtained additional certifications. In November 2019, they earned a "Basic Certificate in Project Management (GPM)" from GPM Deutsche Gesellschaft für Projektmanagement e. V. Menna has also obtained a certification called "telc Deutsch B2" from telc GmbH - The European Language Certificates. The specific details of when they obtained this certification are not provided.
