Michael Apicella

Michael Apicella is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in mechanical design and vehicle development. Currently serving as a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer at Protean Electric since April 2019, Michael also held the role of Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. Prior to this position, Michael contributed as a Research Assistant at Coventry University, focusing on developing prototype hybrid hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles for a European project. Earlier experience includes roles as a Data Acquisitionist with Russo Racing, R&D Designer at Microcab, and various engineering positions in competitive racing teams. Michael holds a Doctor of Engineering (PhD) in Full Vehicle Simulation & Integration, a Master of Science (MScR) in Vehicle Dynamics, and a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Motorsport & Motorcycle Engineering, all obtained from Coventry University.
