Charles Gieseler

Charles Gieseler has a diverse work experience in software engineering and user interface design. Charles is currently working as a Principal Software Engineer at Protein Metrics Inc since November 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Sandia National Laboratories from 2005 to 2021, where they held various roles including Senior Member of Technical Staff and Software Development Consultant. At Sandia National Laboratories, they were involved in software development for real-time operations command and data processing platforms, with a focus on Java desktop applications, user-centered design, rapid prototyping, and UI design and implementation. Charles also worked as a Research Assistant at Iowa State University from 2004 to 2006, where they developed a reinforcement learning platform and supported the development of agent-based simulation models for social science research. Additionally, they worked as a Teaching Assistant at Iowa State University from 2002 to 2003, assisting in teaching and managing introductory computer technology courses. Charles began their career as a Software Engineer at Liquid Audio from 2000 to 2001, where they developed tools for the Distribution Services group and designed and implemented client user interfaces for an internal Content Management System using Java network programming.

Charles Gieseler completed their education in a chronological order. From 1996 to 2000, they attended Santa Clara University where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. Later, from 2002 to 2005, they pursued a Masters of Science degree in Computer Science at Iowa State University.
