Bioinformatics Scientist at Proteome Sciences

Katharina Neuhaus has a diverse and extensive work experience in various scientific research and data analysis roles.

Starting in 2016, Neuhaus worked as a Visiting Student Researcher at the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute in Melbourne, where they spent five months conducting research in the field of Cancer and Disease Epigenetics.

In 2017, they joined the Promega Corporation as a Student Assistant in the Marketing department before transitioning to the role of Student Research Assistant at the DKFZ German Cancer Research Center. In this role, they worked in the Division of Chronic Inflammation and Cancer, writing their bachelor thesis on the investigation of downstream effectors of Lymphotoxin-Beta Receptor Agonisation Mediated HBV cccDNA Degradation by APOBEC3B.

In 2020, they worked at the Justus-Liebig-Universität Giessen, first as a Working Student in the Research Group of Systematic Botany, where they implemented an automated workflow for data processing of Genbank entries. Later, they worked as a Master Student in the Research Group of Food Science, writing their Master's thesis on the implementation of an Open-Source Tool for Automated HPTLC Image Analysis and Fingerprint Interpretation to Simplify Food Quality Assurance.

Neuhaus currently holds the position of Bioinformatics Scientist at Proteome Sciences plc, where they work on project-based bioinformatics data analysis, contributes to the development of proprietary software, and ensures data integrity throughout the process.

Katharina Neuhaus began their education in 2014 at Hochschule Mannheim, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Chemistry. Katharina successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 2018. Following this, they enrolled at Justus Liebig University Giessen in 2018 to pursue a Master of Science degree in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology. Katharina completed their master's program in 2021.
