Darren Lott

Darren Lott has extensive experience in project and portfolio management in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Darren began their career as a Project Manager at Fluor Daniel, Northwest, where they were responsible for managing construction and R&D projects. Darren then worked at ARES Corporation as a Senior PM Consultant and Project Leader before joining KPMG LLP as a Consultant. Darren later joined Carta Inc. as the Director of Project Management and was later promoted to Vice President of Services.

In 2002, Darren joined Genentech as a Sr. Project Manager/Manager before being promoted to Associate Director and then Director of Portfolio Project Management. In these roles, they led portfolio and product strategy development and investment decision making for drug development projects.

After leaving Genentech in 2009, Darren joined Roche as the Global Head of the Project Management Office and later became the U.S. Head of Development Excellence, where they were responsible for staff management and strategy development.

In 2015, Darren joined Achaogen as the Vice President of Portfolio and Project Management, leading the company's Portfolio and Project Management organization and serving as the Program Team Leader for a lead product candidate.

Darren then joined Atara Biotherapeutics as the Vice President of Global Product Portfolio Management, overseeing global product portfolio management until 2019.

Most recently, Darren has been working as an Independent Consultant, providing expertise in drug development project and portfolio management.

In March 2020, Darren joined Prothena Corporation plc as the Senior Vice President of Portfolio and Alliance Management.

Darren Lott obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering and Management from Washington State University, where they also pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Finance concurrently. Darren completed their undergraduate studies in 1991. Later, they pursued an MBA from the same university, focusing on Management and Marketing Emphasis, and completed the program in 1995.
