Shuji Usui holds a PhD in Computational Mechanics from Northwestern University, which was completed from 1996 to 2001. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Nihon University from 1988 to 1992. In addition, they obtained a Project Management Certificate from the University of Minnesota College of Continuing Education in September 2007.
