Shuji Usui

Shuji Usui's work experience is as follows:

- Principal Developer at Protolabs since 2016 (current role)

- Chief Engineer at Third Wave Systems from May 2015 to February 2016

- Lead Developer at Third Wave Systems from September 2006 to May 2015, responsible for machining tool geometry construction, mechanistic cutting force model development, physics-based machining simulation, GPU computation for machining simulation, and initial mesh generation

- Senior Computational Mechanics Engineer at Third Wave Systems from September 2003 to September 2006

- Computational Mechanics Engineer at Third Wave Systems from January 2001 to September 2003

- Engineer at Fujitsu from April 1992 to September 1996.

Shuji Usui holds a PhD in Computational Mechanics from Northwestern University, which was completed from 1996 to 2001. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Nihon University from 1988 to 1992. In addition, they obtained a Project Management Certificate from the University of Minnesota College of Continuing Education in September 2007.
