Hugh Makin

Hugh Makin has a wealth of work experience, beginning in 2012 with the Investment Management Insight Programme at Brewin Dolphin. In 2015, they worked as a Purchasing Industrial Placement at Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi, where they managed 5 suppliers, overseeing a budget of €250M, and implemented a category restructure after turnover segmentation activity. In 2016, they co-founded The Designer Watch Boutique, initiating the design of an e-commerce website and creating an effective supply chain. In 2017, they worked as a Business Analyst at Royal London, creating a business travel proposal which reduced business travel time by 32%, business travel spend by £1.5M (39%) and business travel CO2 emissions 20%. In 2018, they worked as a Consultant at 180 Degrees Consulting ESADE. In 2019, they worked as an Operations Analyst at Royal London. In 2020, they worked as a Finance Associate at Divido. Currently, they are the Finance & Operations Manager at Provenance.

Hugh Makin has a diverse educational background. Hugh began their education at The Manchester Grammar School, where they earned A Levels and IGCSE's from 2005 to 2013. Hugh then attended University of Reading from 2013 to 2017, where they earned a degree in Business and Management. In 2018 and 2019, they attended Esade, where they earned a Master of Science degree in Finance, General. Currently, Hugh Makin is attending Multiverse, where they are pursuing a BSc (Hons) Digital and Technology Solutions (Data Analytics) in Data Analytics.
