Engineering · Full-time · Remote · Remote possible

Job description

In 2016, we founded Provi as an innovative ordering solution, aimed to disrupt the 240-billion dollar alcohol industry with a product that would move beyond the constant chaos: the texts, paper stacks, missed phone calls and lost communication that has dominated the purchasing workflow between buyers and distributors for decades.

Today, Provi is better than ever. We’ve created a best-in-class ordering solution that better connects beverage alcohol professionals across 35 states and growing, with more than 750,000 product listings that make up the most expansive and trusted database of U.S. distributor portfolios.

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Software Engineer to join our team. This role involves enhancing our data integration and ingestion platform, as well as working on services that handle improving the efficiency of distributor onboarding.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Design and develop features and capabilities to integrate with third party distributors, processing their data efficiently and accurately for downstream services to consume.
  • Collaborate with Staff Engineers and Product Managers to understand challenges, prototype new ideas, and implement innovative solutions.
  • Evaluate the impact of functional requirement changes on designs and production code, and communicate these impacts to stakeholders, peers, and management.
  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of integration endpoints and relevant services such as Catalog, Inventory, and Pricing systems.
  • Actively participate in all phases of Agile methodology, contributing to planning, grooming, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Work collaboratively with other developers and teams, focusing on customer benefits and cross-functional feature delivery.

What we are looking for:

  • 2+ years of experience in building scalable backend services using modern programming languages (e.g, Java, Ruby on Rails, Python). Front-end experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Proficiency in Service Oriented Architecture and building REST APIs.
  • Strong understanding of the key components of scalable web services architecture.
  • Experience with data modeling and working with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Postgres, DynamoDB).Familiarity with building and deploying services on AWS.
  • Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including design, testing, CI/CD systems, and addressing scale and performance issues.
