Thomas Truong has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Thomas began their career in 2003 at Ernst & Young, where they worked as a Manager Audit for Financial Services and Insurance until 2006. Following this, they joined Ambrilia Biopharma Inc as a Corporate Controller from 2006 to 2008.

In 2009, Thomas transitioned to PSP Investments as a Consultant, a position they held until 2011. Thomas then progressed to become the Manager of Risk Management from 2011 to 2014. Thomas continued to advance within the company and took on roles such as Manager of Treasury and Business Support from 2014 to 2015 and Senior Manager of Enterprise Risk Management from 2015 to 2017. From 2017 to 2019, they served as the Director of Enterprise Risk and Crisis Management. Thomas took on the role of Director of Enterprise Risk Management and Risk Transfer Solutions from 2019 to 2019. Thomas then held the position of Senior Director of Enterprise Risk Governance & Strategy from 2020 to 2021. Most recently, Thomas has been working as the Senior Director of Enterprise Risk from 2021 until their current position as the Managing Director of Enterprise & Credit Risk, which they started in April 2022.

Thomas Truong's education history begins with their Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and Finance from McGill University - Desautels Faculty of Management, which they obtained from 1999 to 2002. Thomas then pursued a Graduate Diploma in Public Accountancy (CA) from McGill University - Desautels Faculty of Management, which they completed from 2002 to 2003. Moving forward, Thomas obtained several certifications in the field of Risk Management. Thomas achieved their Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada in February 2005. Thomas further enhanced their knowledge in risk management by obtaining various designations and certifications such as RIMS-Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP) Certification from RIMS (Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc.) in March 2018, Associate in Risk Management (ARM) Designation from The Institutes in December 2018, RIMS Fellow (RF) Designation from RIMS (Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc.) in December 2018, and Canadian Risk Management (CRM) Designation from RIMS (Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc.) in January 2019. Thomas also earned the Canadian Enterprise Risk Management (CRM-E) Designation from RIMS (Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc.) and the Associate in Risk Management - Enterprise Risk Management (ARM-E) Designation from The Institutes in August 2019. Thomas enriched their skills further by completing the Risk Management for Corporate Leaders program from the Harvard Business School Executive Education in 2020. Additionally, in the same year, they attended the Executive Institute at McGill University, focusing on their Leadership Journey. Lastly, Thomas obtained the International Travel Preparation, Safety, and Wellness Certificate from Johns Hopkins University School of Education in November 2017, and the Hostile Environment Training Certificate from Control Risks in June 2017.
