Ahmet Tutuncu

Ahmet Tutuncu, MD, PhD, is an accomplished biotech executive with extensive experience in the clinical development of innovative therapies for respiratory and immune disorders. Currently serving as a Biotech Executive at Biotech since November 2020, Tutuncu previously held the position of Executive Vice President of Clinical & Regulatory at Respivant Sciences, where focus was on inhaled RVT-1601 for orphan respiratory diseases. As Chief Medical Officer and Co-founder at both Patara Pharma and Elevation Pharmaceuticals, Tutuncu led successful clinical trials for inhaled therapies targeting idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, contributing to important acquisitions in the biotech sector. Tutuncu began a career in medical affairs at Alliance Pharmaceuticals and has progressively advanced through leadership roles, holding positions at Verus Pharmaceuticals and SkyePharma, focusing on pediatric asthma products and inhaled treatments that contributed to significant product launches in Europe. Tutuncu earned an MD from the University of Istanbul and a PhD in Respiratory Pathophysiology from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
