Stefan Sakurai

Stefan Sakurai is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. Currently serving as President and Representative Director of PTC Therapeutics Japan since July 2021, Stefan focuses on developing innovative treatments for patients with rare disorders. Previously, Stefan held the position of President at LEO Pharma A/S, overseeing dermatological product marketing and sales, and at Oracle Corporation, leading the Health Sciences Global Business Unit in Japan. Stefan also contributed to MSD's musculoskeletal and CNS marketing efforts and was involved in business development and commercial management at Novo Nordisk Pharma Ltd. Early career roles include Executive Vice President at Nihon Hartmann KK and Sales and Marketing Manager at Egmont Corporation. Stefan's educational background includes advanced management training at INSEAD, a diploma in Managing Medical Product Innovation from the Scandinavian International Management Institute, and a combined Master’s degree in International Business from Copenhagen Business School and Keio University.
