Director Of R & D at PTI Transformers

Waldemar Ziomek has a comprehensive work experience spanning several companies and academic institutions. Waldemar started their career as an Academic Teacher and Researcher at the Poznan University of Technology in 1987. Waldemar then became an Assistant Professor from 1992 to 1995. During this time, they also worked as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Strathclyde in 1993 and the University of Stuttgart in 1995. In 1997, they joined CG Power Systems Canada Inc as an Engineering Manager, where they held various roles including Electrical Designer, Manager of Electrical Engineering, and eventually Engineering Manager responsible for product development and innovations, design management, and cooperation with R&D centers and standardizing organizations. In 2013, they joined Crompton Greaves as a Senior Global Expert in Power Transformers and High Voltage Insulation until 2015. From 2015 to 2017, they worked at PTI Manitoba Inc as a Senior Expert in Power Transformers and HV Insulation. Finally, since 2017, they have been working at PTI Transformers as the Director of R & D. In addition to their professional experience, they have also been a member of the IEEE Transformers Committee and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Manitoba.

Waldemar Ziomek completed their MSc in Power Engineering with a focus on Electrical Machines from Poznan University of Technology, where they studied from 1982 to 1987. Waldemar then pursued a PhD in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Power Engineering and High Voltage Engineering, which they obtained from the same university between 1988 and 1992.
