Azwan Ismail

Head Of SSHE (safety, Security, Health & Environment) at PTTEP

Azwan Ismail has a diverse work experience spanning over the years. Azwan started their career in 2004 as a Production Engineer at ROHM Wako and later worked as an Operations Engineer at PETRONAS from 2006 to 2011. At PETRONAS, they also served as a Senior Operations Engineer, leading various task forces and owning production planning processes. In 2012, Azwan joined INTECSEA as a Mechanical Engineer for a brief period. Azwan then moved on to Murphy Oil, where they held several positions including Mechanical Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, Senior Operations Engineer, Senior Superintendent, and Staff Superintendent. Their responsibilities included overseeing mechanical and piping tasks, leading teams, and managing safety and production targets. Currently, Azwan is working at PTTEP as the Head of SSHE, where they ensure the highest standards of safety, security, health, and environment across PTTEP Malaysia. In addition to strategic leadership, they also manage fields' SSHE and production KPIs and serves as a liaison person with regulatory bodies and partners.

Azwan Ismail attended The Malay College Kuala Kangsar from 1992 to 1996, studying Science. Azwan then pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Ōita University, graduating in 2003.
