Harlan T. Beverly

Harlan T. Beverly, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Harlan T. has worked as a VP of Technology at PTW since 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Lecturer at Texas State University, teaching courses on Technology Commercialization. From 2022 to 2023, Harlan was the VP of Engineering at Mercado, where they implemented new Scrum culture and DevOps tools, resulting in increased engineering velocity and zero downtime. Before that, they worked as the VP of Engineering at Beneplace, LLC, where they were involved in software development and agile leadership. Harlan also has experience as a Founding Engineer & CEO at Freebeer.ai, where they developed AI systems and built a world-class event system. Harlan T. was a Lecturer & Assistant Director of Texas Venture Labs at The University of Texas at Austin from 2015 to 2018, teaching entrepreneurship and managing the venture partner program. Harlan was also the President and CEO of Key Ingredient and a Startup Executive at Creeris LP. Harlan T. founded Karmaback, Inc. in 2009 and served as the Founding Engineer & CEO until 2013, growing the company's revenue to $30K MRR. Harlan's career started at Bigfoot Networks, where they co-founded the company and served as the CTO, VP of Engineering, and later as the CEO.

Harlan T. Beverly, PhD, obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from Oklahoma State University between 2013 and 2015. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Entrepreneurship from The University of Texas at Austin, from 2002 to 2005. Their undergraduate studies include a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with a focus on Electronics & Computer Science from Ohio Northern University, completed from 1996 to 1999. Additionally, they obtained a Scrum Master Certified (SMC) certification from the Scrum Alliance in 2020.
