Omar Baddar has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Omar started their career as a Substitute Instructor or Teaching Assistant at the University of Memphis in 2005. Omar then worked as a Political Columnist for the Daily Helmsman newspaper from 2006 to 2007. In 2007, they served as the Executive Director of the American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee of Massachusetts. Omar Baddar has also worked as a Board Member for the ADC of Massachusetts and as the Director of the Palestine Cultural Center for Peace. From 2009 to 2013, they were the New Media Manager at the Arab American Institute. Omar then joined Al Jazeera Media Network as a Digital Producer, where they worked until 2017. From 2017 to 2020, they served as the Deputy Director of the Arab American Institute. Their most recent role, starting in 2020, is as the Director of Communications at the INSTITUTE FOR MIDDLE EAST UNDERSTANDING. In 2023, they are set to become the Director of Communications at Public Citizen.
Omar Baddar completed their Bachelor of Professional Studies degree in Arts and Politics at The University of Memphis in 2005. Afterward, they pursued further studies and obtained a Master's degree in Political Science from the same university, which they completed between 2005 and 2007.
