Sanjay Zodpey

Sanjay Zodpey is the Director of the Indian Institute of Public Health in Delhi, as well as the Vice President of Academics for the Public Health Foundation of India. Sanjay has over twenty years of experience in public health policy and administration.

Zodpey began their career as a faculty member at Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences, where they taught health administration. In 1999, they joined the Institute of Health Systems as senior faculty. Two years later, they became the State Program Manager for Health and Nutrition for the Department of Rural Development in Andhra Pradesh, India.

In 2007, Zodpey joined FHI 360 as Program Director and Health Systems Strengthening Adviser. In this role, they managed FHI's portfolio in Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Education and Development. Sanjay also served as the Task Team Leader for designing the Health Sector Reform Program for two states of India - Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

In 2013, Zodpey left FHI 360 to become the Director of IIPH Delhi and VP of Academics for PHFI. In this role, they are responsible for leading IIPH Delhi in its mission to improve the health of individuals and communities through research, education, and training. Sanjay is also working to strengthen PHFI's academic programs and expand its reach across India.

Sanjay Zodpey has a Phd in Health Management from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, a SM in Population and International health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and a CAS in Human Development from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
