Catherine Desmarais is a seasoned epidemiologist with extensive experience in outbreak response and data management across various settings, including workplaces, healthcare, nursing homes, and correctional facilities. Currently serving as an Epidemiologist II at the Public Health Institute since July 2020, Catherine specializes in supporting vulnerable populations and was integral to the Covid Response Team for Washington County, Oregon. Previous roles include consulting on scientific writing at the University of Chicago, serving as an STD Epidemiologist for the Louisiana Department of Health, and conducting HIV/AIDS surveillance and data management at both the Louisiana and Massachusetts Departments of Health. Catherine's academic background includes a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from Emory University and a Doctorate in Public Health from Tulane University.
