Melissa H. has extensive experience in public health, currently serving as the Sexual Health Coordinator and Public Health Nurse at Public Health Madison and Dane County since July 2021. Prior to this role, Melissa H. was a Teaching Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from January 2021 to May 2021 and held positions as a Community Development Student Intern and Educational Programming Intern at the Morgridge Center for Public Service from August 2018 to January 2021. Melissa H. earned a Master's degree in Public Health from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where studies were completed from 2019 to August 2021, and obtained a Bachelor's degree from the same institution from 2016 to 2020, after graduating from Brown Deer High in 2016.

Public Health Madison and Dane County’s (PHMDC) vision is “Healthy People. Healthy Places.” and its mission is to “Work with the community to enhance, protect, and promote the health of the environment and the well being of all people.” PHMDC fulfills its mission through its work on environmental health, community health, operations, health equity, and policy. PHMDC is increasing its focus on working with the community to address the root causes of disease and illness by focusing on policy, systems, and environmental changes.
