Lydia Freeman Kumar

Lydia Freeman Kumar is a seasoned education consultant currently serving as Senior Manager of Professional Learning Services at Public Impact since September 2020, where leadership of a team focuses on delivering high-quality professional learning for educators and ensuring alignment with firm-wide initiatives. Previous roles at Public Impact include Manager of Professional Learning Services, where development of a Theory of Action took place, and Consultant, working on a federal study and supporting various districts. Prior to Public Impact, Lydia was an Instructional Coach and Reading Intervention specialist at KIPP ENC Public Schools, as well as a teacher at KIPP Charter School and Northampton County Schools. Additional experience includes freelance writing with David Bailey Associates, being a Teach For America corps member, and positions during college at Bluefield College. Lydia Freeman Kumar is pursuing an Executive MBA at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, holding a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications from Bluefield University.
