Bernadette McDermott

Vice President Design & Architecture (real Estate) at Public Storage

Bernadette McDermott has a strong background in design, architecture, and real estate. Their most recent role was as the Vice President of Design & Architecture at Public Storage, where they oversaw the successful realization of new development projects and managed a large annual development pipeline. Prior to that, Bernadette worked as the Director of Preconstruction at Austin Commercial, where they led a cross-functional team and developed marketing strategies. Bernadette also has experience at Clark Construction Group, LLC, where they served as a Senior Design Manager and Project Manager on various projects. Bernadette co-founded a strategic real estate investment venture called Traza, LLC and has also worked as a Technical Designer/Project Coordinator at LPA. Bernadette is a member of the Advisory Board at Bishop Montgomery High School and has served as the Chief Member at Chief. Throughout their career, Bernadette has shown expertise in strategic planning, market recommendations, and collaboration across different teams.

Bernadette McDermott, Assoc. AIA, LEED AP, DBIA, holds a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from the University of Malaya, a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Southern California, and a B.Arch degree from the same university. Bernadette also holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a focus on Strategy from the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business. McDermott has acquired various certifications, including LEED AP from the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI), DBIA Certified from the Design-Build Institute of America, and Assoc. AIA from The American Institute of Architects (AIA). Bernadette has obtained additional certifications in areas such as Green Globes Professional, OSHA, safety training, and first aid.
