April Stone has a diverse work experience across different industries and roles. April started their career at The Bach Cafe as a Front of House staff from August 2011 to March 2013. April then worked at New World NZ, where they held multiple positions, including Checkout Operator from March 2013 to January 2014, Compliance Manager from January 2014 to March 2015, and Senior Office Administrator from March 2013 to August 2018. April continued their professional journey at BDO in New Zealand as an Assistant Accountant from August 2018 to February 2019 and later as an Accountant from February 2019 to February 2021. Currently, they are employed at Public Trust as a Systems Accountant since February 2021, and they have been recently promoted to the role of Financial Systems Team Lead in December 2022. In their current position, April oversees the maintenance of financial system processes and controls, reviews user practices, identifies system enhancements, represents Financial Systems in business change initiatives, and provides leadership and coaching to their team.
April Stone's education history includes completing a diploma in Applied Management and a diploma in Human Resources at the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand from 2017 to 2018 and 2017 to 2019 respectively. April also attended Wellington East Girls College from 2009 to 2013. Currently, they are pursuing an Accounting Technician degree from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand since 2022.
April has obtained several additional certifications including ITIL Foundation, Career Essentials in System Administration by Microsoft and LinkedIn, IT Help Desk for Beginners, Accounting Technician, Microsoft Excel - Data Analysis and Reporting, Colour Accounting, Leadership Essentials, Xero Advisor, and Xero Payroll from institutions such as PeopleCert, Microsoft, LinkedIn, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Auldhouse, ServiceIQ, Foodstuffs North Island Limited, and Xero.
