Tye (Tianyuan) Wang has a diverse range of work experience in the tech industry. Tye (Tianyuan) is currently the Director of Engineering, Alternatives at Public.com, which is a continuation of their previous role as the head of engineering at Otis, which was acquired by Public in March 2022.

Prior to their current role, Tye founded Nombler in 2017. Tye (Tianyuan) also founded JUMP TV in 2018 and held the position until the end of the year.

Tye has also worked at Venmo, where they held multiple roles including Technical Architect, Lead Engineer, and Software Developer. Tye (Tianyuan) played a key role in building Venmo merchant payments, collaborating with various teams to establish the user experience and design of the product. Tye (Tianyuan) also worked on integrating Venmo with external partners such as Braintree and PayPal.

Earlier in their career, Tye worked as a Software Developer at Braintree and Optiver. At Optiver, they were also a Derivatives Trader, involved in trading options and futures and conducting market research and analysis.

Tye began their career as a Software Development Intern at KEYW Corporation and Cisco Systems. Tye (Tianyuan) also served as a Research Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University, working on the Twelf Project under Professor Jonathan Aldrich.

Tye (Tianyuan) Wang attended Carnegie Mellon University from 2006 to 2009, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Additionally, during their time at the university, they pursued and successfully completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) program in Chinese Studies.
