Rui Pedro Paiva

Rui Pedro Paiva is an experienced journalist currently working for Público and Lusa since July and August 2019, respectively. Previously, Rui Pedro Paiva completed an internship at Público in late 2018. In addition to journalism, Rui Pedro Paiva held leadership roles at Associação Académica da Universidade dos Açores as President and Vice-President from January 2016 to December 2017, and was also the Communication Officer. Additional involvement includes serving as a member of the Conselho Regional da Juventude for the Governo dos Açores and being an elected student representative at the Assembleia da Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas - UAc from September 2016 to October 2017. Earlier roles include President of the student association at Escola Secundária das Laranjeiras and a member of the local education council for Câmara Municipal de Ponta Delgada. Rui Pedro Paiva holds a Master's degree in Ciências da Comunicação from Universidade do Porto and a Licentiate degree in Comunicação Social e Cultura from Universidade dos Açores.
