Howard Ruan

Howard Ruan, MDiv, LSW, is a multifaceted mental health professional currently serving as a Psychotherapist and Co-op Member at Rayo Counseling & Community Co-Op, where long-term therapy is provided to individuals, couples, and families using various therapeutic modalities. With extensive experience in mental health, Howard has performed roles ranging from Book Reviewer and Religion Editor Assistant at Publishers Weekly, to fellow and mentor at the Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis, and Mental Health Clinical Practitioner at Heartland Alliance. Past positions include medical social worker at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, contract chaplain at Rush University Medical Center, and resource advocate for youth. Howard's educational background includes a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts in Social Work, both from the University of Chicago, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts from Shimer College and a brief study at the University of Oxford.
