Laura Medina Rivera is the Federal Affairs Office Director at Puerto Rico Department of Health. Laura has over six years of experience working in the legal field. Laura started their career as a law clerk with Silva Almeyda Law Office in January 2017. In this role, they were responsible for reviewing files and data to extract information pertinent to litigation needs. Laura also organized and indexed trial files, composed and drafted routine court documents and pleadings, and prepared and organized materials used as court exhibits. In January 2014, Laura started working with Pérez Borrero and Associates Law Offices, PSC. as a professional service provider. In this role, Laura was responsible for drafting deeds, rectification deeds, power of attorney, Homestead Protection Act, affidavits, and other notary documents. Laura also revised and prepared documents prior to notarial inspection. In August 2013, Laura started their own professional services business providing mediation and conflict management services.

Laura Medina Rivera has a Doctor of Law from Interamerican University Law School, a B.A. in Human Resources and Business Administration from Inter-American University of Puerto Rico, and a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General from Universidad de Puerto Rico. Laura also has a Mediator Trainee certification from the Mediation Institute and a Grants Management certification from Concordia University Chicago.
